Seminar: Developing Hydrogen Infrastructure for the Future of Mining
About the Project:
Client: Sacré-Davey
A Sacré-Davey Representative was presenting at CIM Montréal, a mining conference, to discuss the potential applications of hydrogen energy in the mining industry. Hydrogen can be produced with green energy or as a byproduct of many current industry processes. It can help mining & Mineral processing companies reduce their emissions by being used for power generation and storage for remote sites, as a clean fuel for heavy machinery, and as a feedstock for several industry activities, such as steel production.
Ridgeway Communications was the lead responsible for building most of the presentation. After an orientation meeting with Sacré-Davey to discuss what types of information we wanted, Ridgeway began gathering research and statistics. We leveraged reputable research databases like Statista and StatsCan to find global trends on GHG emissions, hydrogen use, and other useful information. We looked at what industry thought leaders such as Fortis, Glencore, and more, were doing to integrate hydrogen into their processes. We also looked at the National Hydrogen Strategies for many countries, such as Canada, United States, Chilé, and several others. In situations where we wanted a visual representation for a fact but didn’t have a graph we wanted, Ridgeway would compile the raw data to build a chart that better showcased the point we were trying to make.
Once our research phase was complete, we were ready to start shaping the presentation. We broke down the points we wanted to make on each slide, pulling key facts from our research to highlight to our audience. When writing the slides, the goal was to find the perfect balance between providing enough information that the audience could grasp the core concepts just be reading, but not so much that the pages were overcrowded. Ridgeway Communications was also responsible for a lot of the slide design, choosing the images we used on each slide and laying out the pages in a visually appealing way.
The seminar was a huge success, and the presenter mentioned that they received many compliments on his presentation after he finished. The slideshow was a successful communication tool and provided an effective visual aid for what the speaker was saying.
